Big topic at Micro.blog at the moment: Ulysses Beta with MB support.
Me: Whoa cool, what is Ulysses? clicks a link
Website: Mac/iOS only.
How could I have thought this was about Android?
Haha, soon I’ll only post super cool apps that are exclusive to Android. You’ll see!
I have deleted all todo apps from my phone. They are just stressful.
Mail: Dominik, try again LinkedIn Premium!
Like Xing, LinkedIn is a relatively superfluous network that is all about collecting trophies by showing how many contacts you have. But I’m happy to be proven wrong.
I just discovered Bundled Notes. If someone is into fancy cool new notes (& markdown & todo all in one) apps, this is the way.
You love journaling? Your mental health is important to you?
I love it. ❤️
It motivates me to write, even if I don’t know what to write. It’s the first app of that kind that managed to do that for me.
I… did… this…
Need to go to bed now. Problem is: I am awake but can’t think anymore. So I play around on my Homescreen…
I’m looking for a website that showcases new, good apps. I just found reflection.app, but more by accident. I would like to have a source for this kind of stuff. Preferably Android, happy to have general store Android & iOS.
The latest trick on Twitter is to have “movies” and “apps” follow you so you watch and download them. Outrageous. Now please don’t bother, I’m watching movies and trying out apps.
It permits just with a single click to copy an emoji.
There is a search-box and the “Most used emojis” section (the first one).
(There are similar for Chrome and so on.)
Trying out digiKam (Open Source) for Photo Management.
I’ve been playing around with Affinity Photo for a while now. Cool. I like the personas. It’s a little slower overall than my Photoshop CS4 but it has potential. Are there actually presets like for Lightroom to optimize images?
Affinity Publisher seems absolutely perfect for what I do. Unfortunately, I can’t import my previous InDesign projects because I didn’t have them saved in the correct format. And my InDesign trial periods have long since expired. Hmm.
The Affinity Designer I don’t know if I’ll need anytime soon. I’ve rarely done logos or vector graphics, and I’m not very good at them either.
Today I’m really thankful again for the whole microblogging community. One or two questions about photo software, many useful answers! Thank you, thank you so much!
What software do you use to sort photos on your hard drive? That is, to pack them into meaningful structures, to remove duplicates, etc.
Does anyone use Affinity Photo? A friend recommended it to me yesterday because it was on sale. Looks promising too.
If you are an Evernote Premium user, you can send 1 year of Premium for free to a friend from the settings. If you enter your own mail address that you use at Evernote, your Premium will be extended for 1 year for free. You did not get this from me. (It works.)
Homescreen update 💜💜💜
Icons: Caelus Black by @One4Studio with a lot of new (great) icons (@gluon!!)
I finally found a use case for IFTTT. I now save Youtube videos, tweets and reddits I like automatically in Raindrop.io. 💪
My Kindle Paperwhite doesn’t arrive until tomorrow. It’s nice when they move the “certain delivery date” to another “certain delivery date”. 📚 🤬
Homescreen update: Simplicity.
Some correct icons are missing, but I already requested them. ;)
Was it wise to order the 10th generation of the Kindle Paperwhite? It’s been around since 2018, so maybe there will be a follow-up soon?
I now have 3 Amazon Echo’s. And I can’t get music (or an audio book) playing on one Echo to continue playing on another Echo at the exact same point. That’s such a crock. Basically, I’m just changing the speaker. (Succinct customer statement.) Stupid thing!
