The sequel to Ready Player One is coming, both as a book and a film. I loved the book, I liked the film. This one was completely different, but okay. I am especially looking forward to the second book! ๐ฟ ๐

Ramez Naam himself liked my Book Recommendation post on his Nexus trilogy. I’m really happy about it right now. I love it when artists react to their fans.
Book Recommendation Week #7:
Nexus by Ramez Naam
The prelude to a stirring trilogy about a novel drug that links people’s brains together. But unfortunately, that’s exactly what is being exploited. A thoroughly realistic view of the future of humanity.

In my book recommendations for Stephen King’s The Stand and Frank Schรคtzing’s The Swarm I forgot to include a short summary. That was a big mistake, because as nice as this week of recommendations is. If a short summary is missing, for example in the Discovery Section at Micro.blog, I would have to search for it myself and see if it is something for me. (Which I have never done before.) That’s why I gave every book a small but nice summary with the most important clues. I hope it helps you a little bit. ๐
Book Recommendation Week #6:
Influx by Daniel Suarez
A gloomy vision of the future about technology and further development, which will be stopped as soon as possible and above all with extreme severity. Sometimes I shivered while reading. I even felt a little nauseous.
๐
Book Recommendation Week #5:
A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
Charlie Asher’s just a regular guy. He’s expecting his first child and suddenly he’s death itself. Stupid situation. A book that I read several times and had to laugh over and over again.
๐
Book Recommendation Week #4:
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
A wonderful book about love, being human and death. It made me laugh, it made me cry.
๐
Book Recommendation Week #3:
The Swarm: A Novel of the Deep by Frank Schรคtzing
A fascinating and comprehensible story meets incredibly well elaborated (main) characters. The book captivated me from the beginning and shocked me in the end.
๐
Regarding the Book Recommendation Week at Micro.blog: I think this will be extremely difficult for me, because I have read many, many very good books. And theoretically I could fill the 7 days with Stephen King books alone. But well, I’ll do my best to introduce you to other books that have deeply impressed me in the last years. These don’t necessarily have to be all my favorites, but they are definitely unique works in some way. ๐
Book Recommendation Day #2:
The Stand by Stephen King
The apocalyptic setting, the King-typical great characters and the ending, which leaves a lot of room for fantasy, fascinated me endlessly.
๐
Book Recommendation Week #1:
Transport by Phillip P. Peterson
An alien transporter is being tested by some ex-cons. The transporter leads to alien worlds, but it also leads to death.
The story and its realistically comprehensible harshness quickly captivated me. Book 1 of the series is still terrific, while the successors unfortunately can’t keep up.

It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.
Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club
Finished reading: Someone New by Laura Kneidl ๐
Hey hey, I just started a Goodreads account and think that most of my read books (last 5 years?) are now rated over there. If you want to, feel free to follow me! www.goodreads.com/dominikho… ๐
