I had tears in my eyes today. I watched the first 30 minutes of Leon - The Professional. I’d forgotten how good the movie is. It’s about the scene where Mathilda comes back from shopping and realizes her whole family has been killed. So she walks past one of the killers and rings Leon’s doorbell. She flies for him to open, she cries, she doesn’t know what to do. On the other hand Leon, who is weighing things up, also doesn’t know what to do. When the situation becomes almost unbearable, Mathilda is bathed in bright light. Leon has opened the door for her. She is saved. The structure of this scene is great, dramatic and intense. And even after that the tears came again when Leon fetched his “house pig” for Mathilda to cheer her up a bit. What a movie, I still love it. 🍿
